We’ve got incredible people in Calgary. Here are a few organizations and stories that warmed out hearts:

  • Leftovers redirected nearly 22,000 pounds of food from restaurants to nonprofits that support vulnerable populations in Calgary and Edmonton.
  • The team at Youth Centres of Calgary are providing free bagged lunches for all kids in neighbourhoods around Calgary. No registration required!
  • Eric Yeung, founder of PostGame, started the #FeedingYYC campaign to raise $3000 to help feed 50 families over the Easter Long Weekend. He succeeded! With community support from Calgarians, #FeedingYYC fed more than 60 families through Brown Bagging For Calgary’s Kids and Made By Momma.
We had the opportunity to do some local good too! We donated more than 125 lbs of off-cuts and bones to Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary to help them feed the wolfdogs. Read about their needs (and see cute animal pics!) here.

Regardless of how big or small stories like these are, they represent the resiliency and hope that fills Alberta—we can't help but feel grateful to be surrounded that every single day.
