Even as our world has changed, we all still need to eat.
Bessie has been working with our customers to give away food to people in need during this tough time. We recently found someone new who needed additional food help.
The Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary.
Due to COVID-19 preventative measures, they have closed to the public. But even while closed, the wolfdogs still need to eat. It costs as much as $1,800 per month to care and feed each wolf dog! Without tours and visitors, the sanctuary is in need of funds (and food!).
Bessie heard the wolves’s call and joined in with a howl of our own. We donated over 125 pounds of beef heart, kidney, liver, and neck bones.
Although some of the Bessie team loves eating these organ and boney bits, we knew that the wolfdogs would eat through them a lot faster. Please go to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary website for more information on how you can help out during this time.
And if you want to see the wolfdogs enjoy some Bessie meats...the sanctuary often hosts Facebook/Instagram live-streams of activity times (including an Easter Egg Hunt!). These live-streams highlight the wolfpack hunting for surprises (and maybe some Bessie tasty treats).
